Robert
Basham's Greatest Shot! Congratulations
to Robert Basham of Quakertown, PA. On
Tuesday May 13, 2008, the morning was clear
and sharp. A breeze greeted Bob and Steve
Sinisko as they started their daily 18-hole
round. Bob was hot and played the first
three holes with birdie, birdie, par.
As usual, Bob cooled off a bit until
he got to the 9th hole.
Getting out his trusty 8 iron, he
checked the wind and struck the ball crisply
sending it directly at the flag.
Landing on the green, the ball made
its way to the hole to gently fall in. Steve
bellowed, “I saw it go in”.
Bob declared “Are you sure, I
didn’t see it, I thought it went into the
Bunker”!
Congratulations Bob by joining the
ranks of the Sweet Water Hole-In-One Club.
Good eyes Steve and Great Shot Bob

Linda
Wood's Perfect Shot! Congratulations
to Linda Wood of Pennsburg, PA. On September
8, 2007 Linda and her husband Harry decided
to play a relaxing late afternoon round of
golf. As
they approach the third green, Linda was
thinking about the green being small with a
left to right slope.
The weather has been warm and it
hasn’t rained in a long time so she knew
the green would be very firm.
Naturally hitting a high draw with
her irons, Linda aimed her Tommy Armour 8
iron to the right of the pin and she made a
good swing that “crushed” that Titleist
Solo ball.
As usual for Linda, the ball flew
high and started to draw towards the
flagstick and abruptly vanished into the cup
right before their eyes.
Her shot was so perfect that the cup
was not damaged from the impact of the ball.
Congratulations Linda on the perfect
shot and joining the ranks of the Sweet
Water Hole-In-One Club.
Great Shot Linda !!!

Joe
Schade Doesn't Let the Fog Stop Him! Congratulations
to Joseph Schade of
Doylestown, PA. On September 4, 2007
the morning mist and the fog wouldn’t
break.
Upon reaching the 3rd
hole, the fog was still so heavy that Joe
was unable to see the flagstick only 95
yards away.
After pulling his reliable sand
wedge, teeing his Dunlop ball, taking his
address, aiming carefully, and swinging with
authority, Joe was squinting to see the ball
disappeared into the mist. Knowing he hit
the ball well he looked over the green but
to no avail. Then a chance thought came to
him and he checked the hole.
Congratulations Joe by joining the
ranks of the Sweet Water Hole-In-One Club.
Great Shot Joe !!!

Cheryl
Stotsenburg is Blinded!
Congratulations
to Cheryl Stotsenburg "Stots" of
Quakertown, PA.On August 14, 2007 Cheryl was
playing in the Ladies League during a
"Crazy Ball" Tournament. It was her
turn on #9 tee and the sun was bright and
blinding. After using her Ram 24 Hybrid and
hitting a beauty of a tee shot, no one knew
where her ball was. Helen Hamilton, Cheryl
Alderfer and Sylvia Kalazs, being the good
partners that they are, started to look for her
ball. Someone finally joked "Why don't you
look in the hole?" Sure enough with the 4
surrounding the hole, excitement was in the air
as "Stots" found her Nike ball in the
bottom of the cup! After a chest butt and a
shout, Stots can now join the ranks of the hole
in one club - super job!

Josh
Rehrig has his 1st Hole in One!
Congratulations
to Josh Rehrig of Pennsburg, PA.On June 13, 2007
Josh was playing a practice round when he hit
his memorable shot to the 140 yard
#9 green with a Pitching Wedge.
His first thought was how good the shot
felt as he watched the ball fly high, with a
draw, gently curve onto the green, and then into
the hole for his first Hole-In-One.
Josh still can’t believe how good the
shot felt and the memory of the flight of the
ball. Now he knows what a good swing can bring. You
can smile all you want.
Great Shot Josh !!!

Joey
Wagner Has a Wintery Hole in One!
On a
beautiful Friday afternoon, in an
unbelievable mild winter month of February, the
golf course was open and playable.
Joey Wagner was by himself and decided to
get some exercise and start "warming
up" for the season. On the #8 par
3 140 yard hole, he hit his best shot ever
with his 8 iron and saw it hit on the green,
bounce once, and disappear. Upon
fixing his ball mark on this somewhat soggy
day, he happened to glance in the hole and
by his astonishment, found his little white
ball!!! Unfortunately, there was no one else
with him to celebrate with!! He wasn't sure
what he should do, but after finishing his
round, he let the pro shop know his feat!
HIS FIRST HOLE IN ONE! Upon his
departure, he knew he would be buying drinks
for all of his friends at home once his
"story" came out on his first hole
in one - Congrats Joey!!! We believe you!

David
Adams of Telford Starts His Holiday Weekend
Off Right! On a
beautiful Friday afternoon, September 2,
2005, David used his Adams pitching wedge
(yes we know is last name is Adams too -
must be his LUCKY club!) and his Titleist
NXT ball to tee it up on the 95 yard #3
hole. With his co-worker Stephen
Charlton looking on, David took his best
swing and both watched it bounce twice on
the green before disappearing. Going
near the cup, they removed the pin to
discover David's ball sitting pretty in the
bottom of the cup. David wonders if he
should by his buddy a drink after being
beaten by Steve on the rest of the round';
but David had the top shot of the day for
sure! Congratulations Dave!!!

Congratulations to
Lucas Hollenbach of Sellersville, PA on
Saturday,
June 25, 2005.
On a brutally hot Saturday afternoon, Lucas hit his 1st hole in one
with his family looking on – father Russ and
brothers Dexter and Garrett were watching Lucas
hit his sand wedge on the # 3 - 95 yard hole. The
family caused such a commotion when they saw the
hole-in-one that other groups on the course came
to a standstill! What a wonderful shot – great
job Lucas!

Congratulations to Bob Bischoff of Perkasie, PA on Wednesday, June 15, 2005. Bob was playing with his good friend Mike Killough and while using his 8 iron hit a screaming shot that he thought went beyond the green and out of bounds. Bob went up to the green and looked around a bit and said to Mike “It couldn’t be in the hole, could it?” Looking by chance, Bob discovered his ball sitting neatly in the #3 95 yard hole! Great shot Bob!

Congratulations to Dan Smith of East Greenville, PA On May 30, 2005 Dan was golfing with his buddies and hit a "memorial" shot to the 95 yard #3 green with his 8 Iron. Dan couldn't believe what a memorable shot it was! He certainly knows how to celebrate Memorial Weekend - Great Shot Dan!

Larry Emert of Perkasie Really
Sees Stars and Stripes with His First Hole-In-One On July 4, 2004 with his weekly golfing buddies Gordy Detweiler and Dave Hartzell both of Sellersville by his side, Larry set off fireworks of his own with his first hole in one on the par 3 145 yard #8 hole with his 6 iron. As maintenance worker Kerry Goodwin looked on (this was Kerry's 2nd witness of a customer’s hole in one) – Larry wonders if Kerry should follow all customers around the course. Super shot Larry! What a way to celebrate Independence Day with some REAL fireworks!!!! |

Nancy has her lucky day! - On a beautiful
afternoon on Tuesday, July 1, 2003, Nancy Stempel had her lucky day. With her husband Larry by her side, Nancy
used a 5 wood on the #8 135 yard par 3 hole to slam a screamer at the
hole. At first, she couldn't believe she hit it that far and long but
after getting to the green and looking all around, she peered into the cup
to find her white ball resting in the bottom! Nice shot Nancy! She passes
buying the round of drinks on to her husband since "he pays for everything
anyway" - Way to go Nancy; her first hole in one! |

Lucky September 5th Gives an Ace to Karl Wagenhoffer The wind was blowing in the right direction on this day with Karl Wagenhoffer of Lansdale, PA to be the first of two golfers to ace a hole at Sweet Water. Karl used his 9 iron to have this golden golfing experience on hole #3. With his buddies Jim O’Brien, Joseph Janus and Charles Reckner looking on, Karl hit a beaut into the hole. Congratulations and celebrations followed their spying the “lost” ball in the hole. |

Later That Day…… It Was Walter Neely’s Turn to Ace Walter Neely of Macungie, PA had the same luck as Karl with a blind shot on hole #8 in the afternoon of September 5, 2002. Ignoring all the visual distractions on the tee and the tree to the right of the fairway, Walter used his blessed 8 iron to hit a fabulous shot to the green, which was his first ever. Nice ace Walter!

Peter Lou’s Out of Town Visit is an Exciting One On a scalding hot Tuesday morning, July 23, 2002 Peter, age 15, of Cuyahoga, OH was visiting his grandfather Wallace Catanach of Rieglesville, PA and they decided to play a round of golf. Playing at Sweet Water’s #3 hole (a par 3 93 yards) and using his lucky sand wedge, he hit a high floater, which landed in front of the green, bounced twice, and went into the cup. Unaware of his plight, a maintenance employee Kerry Goodwin of East Greenville, PA witnessed the ball go in after mowing the #3 green and congratulated him for a feat accomplished by few. Congratulations to Peter, his 1st hole in one – look out Tiger!

Jim Kaye Sinks One With A Stroke on the “Old” #2 Hole It would be one of the last times the old #2 green would be played, and Jim Kaye, an avid golfer, played it the right way on June 10, 2001 with his 6 iron. At the time the green was situated 175 yards from the tee with the vision of the new 250 yard par 4 green growing in some yards behind it. Ellen Rainey who witnessed this event, was a little bit overjoyed when she watched with amazement at Jim hit a screamer off the tee. As they walked to the green, they wondered if this really could have teetered into the hole. Sure enough, by removing the pin, the ball was sitting nicely in the cup. Even though the green is no longer there, each time Jim plays the new green, he walks by the old pin placement (which is now the fairway) with pride. Super shot Jim! |

Fred Crist gets his first Hole-In-One at
Sweet Water One of the most exciting things to happen to a golfer is dropping a tee shot into a distant hole for a hole in one. On Sunday, August 6, 2000 Fred did just that on a blind shot on hole #8 (140 yds) with his 7 wood. A long time golfer, and with his brother Ron at his side as a witness, Fred hit a beauty but they weren’t sure if it went in until approaching the green and checking the cup with the little white ball sitting “oh so prettily” inside. Congratulations Fred! |

Mr. James “Jamie” Nyce hits a “nyce” shot On August 25, 2000 with a 9 iron, Jamie hit a hole-in-one on this par 3 118 yard drive. Getting his first hole in one certainly beat working at Nyce Crete Company. Being very excited of his accomplishment, he ran out the door and left to go home to tell others without getting his picture taken on this famous occasion. Nice shot anyway Jamie! |

Tom Halligan of Quakertown Gets His First
Hole-In-One On September 9, 2000 with his friend Joanne at his side, Tom hit a fabulous shot on the 9th hole with his trusty 9 iron. Not really wanting to play golf that day, he was certainly glad he did when he discovered his ball in the bottom of the cup. Now he needs to come back and visit so his picture can be included in our hole-in-one club. Great job Tom! |

Person Scramble is REALLY Lucky for One On Saturday, September 16, 2000, Sean Remington of Collegeville, PA was persuaded to play in a golf scramble with some friends. Being a golf course superintendent by trade and not being able to play much golf, he had always dreamed of having a hole in one. This being a REALLY lucky day for Sean, he reached the 9th hole with his pitching wedge with many onlookers from the scramble who hooted and hollered when it trickled in the cup in one stroke! Being this his first hole in one on a 118 yard par 3 hole, he also helped his teammates of Roger & Karen Tucker and John Pozzouli win skins on that hole and secured them the win in the scramble tournament with a 59 team score! Too bad Sean didn’t play the lottery that day too! |

September 16, 2000 is Lucky for Another After Remington’s nice shot on #9 in the morning, Eric Nichols of Doylestown, PA scored an ace with on the 93 yard 3rd hole at Sweet Water in the afternoon. Eric found the bottom of the cup rather than the more usual water-filled creek that runs in front of the hole using his 9 iron to tee it up and hit the lucky shot. After a search of the surrounding terrain, Eric was “tickled pink” when he found his ball in the hole. Nice drive Eric! |

On a Cold Friday, Mr. “Marco” Mariotti One-Strokes It Joe “Marco” Mariotti of Telford, PA has only been playing golf a few years but had one of those days we all dream about when he aced the 93 yard hole #3 on a blustery day in March. With only 2 other golfers playing on this sunny but cold March afternoon, Joe used his pitching wedge to score an exciting hole-in-one and make everyone else who’s been playing for years jealous. Joe wasn’t one to boast saying that “it was just luck” that the ball went in and he’s looking forward to another one, until he found out that it’s customary to “buy the drinks” after letting others know of your lucky shot. Recently retiring from his accounting business, now he’s keeping it quiet so he can “account” for his money until his next lucky swing! Great job Joe! |
